And we’re off… I’m trying again for a lower handicap
So, after much rain, cold and other pretty awful weather, the 2016 golf season has finally started! As well as the season, I’m trying again for a lower handicap!
Together with James Whitaker, I’ll actually be taking some time to play, practice, play and practice some more this season… not like last year!
Winter has gone pretty well, and I have been able to practice quite a bit in the JWhitaker Golf indoor performance centre, which means I am in reasonable good shape (not physically!) as the season starts. However, I have moved golf clubs to Howley Hall, which is proving trickier than first anticipated!
Now the weather has improved a little, I’ve been trying to practice on the golf course, usually in and around meetings… like this quick 9 holes the other day at Moor Allerton Golf Club.
Played pretty well, although I was only off the yellow tees. Played on Saturday at Howley Hall (new club), but finished net 77 (+4)… not good enough. that said, I did still strike the ball reasonably well.
Still… you can never have too much practice! So, today in my lunch hour I hit the range.
Playing tomorrow in a little comp at Oulton Hall with FORE Business… and hopefully the weather will be better than today!
